The National Gymnasium is commonly known as the folding fan. During the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, it will host all the men’s ice hockey events, as well as some of the women’s ice hockey finals and some of the Winter Paralympic ice hockey events. In order to fully reflect the ice and snow elements of the Winter Olympics, the exterior façade design of the training hall adopts the design of the “Ice Castle” glass curtain wall that highlights the elements of the Winter Olympics. Energy saving measures in lighting design

1. The application of light source energy saving-LED. Using 008W white LED (beam angle 120 degrees), the lamp power is about 64W/piece, the LED light-emitting board is 1930nmx975mm, and LED lighting is applied to more than 60% of the area (area), saving 20% of electricity.

2. Control system energy saving—Three ways of manual, clock and automatic control are adopted. Among them, clock control is the main control method, and automatic control adopts the method of reserved control interface, which can be connected with building automation.

What new technologies, new materials, new equipment, and new processes are used in the design

1. The inner transparent lighting of the rear insulation layer glass curtain interlayer adopts 0.08W white LED (beam angle 120 degrees), and the lamp power is about 64W/block.

2. Practical application of large-scale LED lamps and related control systems. Among them, 1930nmx975mm 64W LED back panel lights totaled 1265 pieces (total area 2380m2), and 20W1m strip LED lights above the grille totaled 3000 pieces (total length 3000m).

Those environmental safety measures used in the lighting design

1. Power distribution design: a. The project adopts three-phase five-wire system (TN-S) 380/220V low-voltage power supply, and the main power supply is provided by Party A according to the actual situation on site; b. The project temporarily sets up 5 power distribution units In the later stage, the number of distribution boxes can be adjusted according to the actual situation of the site. The specific installation location can be determined according to the actual situation of the site. The total power load is 2774KW; All power sources are led out from the inner edge of the ceiling on the first floor to the inner side of the steel column on the facade to the installation position of the lamps, and then the steel plate of the column is opened to lead out the power supply.

2. Control mode: This project adopts three control modes: manual, clock and automatic. The manual control is the manual beside the box, the clock is the main control mode, and the automatic control adopts the method of reserved control interface, which can be connected with the building automation.

3. Grounding: The lighting distribution box of this project and the metal shell of the lamps should be grounded reliably, and the grounding resistance should not be greater than 4 ohms.

 Interior Lighting Design Ideas

1. Save the Olympics – the same lighting system, taking into account the ice and land sports. Adhering to the Beijing Winter Olympics’ policy of hosting the Olympic Games frugally, the same lighting system is adopted to make it meet the requirements of high-definition TV broadcast of the Winter Olympics, and it has the modernization, A multi-functional large-scale integrated venue for both ice and land use.

2. Light source selection —— Comprehensive consideration of the influence of factors such as the reliability of the lighting source and the heating of the light source on the ice surface of the competition, the venue lighting system using the LED light source.

3. Ice hockey – the impact of reflected glare on ice sports and the challenge of lighting design from the shadow of the hockey field baffle.

4. The addition of intelligent control system and ambient light provides an immersive experience for the audience.

 Key points of interior lighting design

1. The lamps are installed on the four horse lanes parallel to the long side of the field and the support horse road perpendicular to the long side of the field. Location selection is based on:

(1) Meet the requirements of various parameters of FOP lighting.

(2) Avoid reflective glare caused by lamps on the ice surface.

(3) Weakening the influence of the ice hockey baffle on the shadow of the adjacent ice surface.

During the design, we calculated, demonstrated and determined the installation positions of lamps and the number of lamps in different horse lanes; four parallel horse lanes were adopted in the design, and the use of the outermost horse lane was abandoned.

2. The lighting design selects the corresponding ice surface material and reflection coefficient, conducts simulation calculation and demonstration in the software, optimizes the selection of the light distribution of the lamps, and determines the projection angle of the lamps to avoid the influence of reflected glare on each camera.

3. Choose a light fixture type with efficient glare control to minimize glare for athletes and cameras.

4. The application of RGBW lamps in the field of sports lighting provides support for the entertainment and interactivity of sports events.

5. The DMX512 intelligent control system provides switching of various game modes, interpretation modes and interactive effects of sound and light linkage effects.

5. Avoid reflective glare

Reflected glare will cause trouble for broadcast. During the design, the relative relationship between the installation position of the horse track and the lamps and the site is analyzed and calculated, and the calculation shows that the outermost horse track is not a suitable location for the installation of lamps and lanterns.

6. Baffle shadow treatment

1. Baffle shadows are a common problem with lighting for hockey sports. In the design, there needs to be a special solution to eliminate/reduce shadows to ensure the lighting effect of the venue.

2. The two pictures on the left of the following figure show the situation of serious shadows caused by improper handling, and the two pictures on the right are the targeted design of the national pavilion, which is close to no shadow effect.

3. The key point of the design is to choose the installation position of the lamp and the setting of the projection angle of the lamp.
